About Web Design
[Clicking on the "Description" link again will hide this text]. Website design is a complex task! There are many considerations to take into account when designing websites. The many non-web courses (video editing, 2-D animation, 3-D animation...) I am taking as part of my 'Digital Multimedia Technology' diploma all eventually come around to "How do I take that and integrate it for delivery on the web?" The web courses we are taking are extensive, and give us insight into the many website issues that traditional graphic designers of print products rarely need to face. These include (among others) interface navigation and wayfinding; information architecture and labelling; site structure; usability testing, target audience identification, and personas development; and designing specifically for the web. We have learned how to create effective sitemaps, wireframes, and sitepath diagrams.
About the Content
The simple screen shots show you one to three screenshots from the site, so you get a rough idea of the site design. Of course, the 'launch' link takes you directly to the website, so you can browse through it to your heart's content.
To help you better understand the parameters of the various web projects - the site goals, the intent of the project, who the intended audience is - I have included an 'About the Project' paragraph. Throughout the Web Design section, I have tried to succinctly and clearly describe what the website is all about. I also have an 'About the Site Features' section, describing any special features of the site.
