About the Project

This was another in-class assignment for our typography class. We had to create an invitation. Fonts, colours, size of invitation, and purpose of invitation was totally left up to the individual students.

About the Approach

My approach was pretty basic: I wanted a simple but elegant invitation that I could actually use for the upcoming New Year's Eve gathering my international folkdance friends were having.

I worded the invitation in an appealing way. I then looked for fonts that would look elegant but readable. And I set it in colours that would look wintery, but not bland. I wanted any graphic to be very understated, and for the font itself to do the job of conveying the festive mood. That is why the only graphics are light snowflakes.

I do believe that this elegant font really 'makes' the invitation.
