About Hand-Rendered Drawings & non-Digital Photographs

[Clicking on the "Description" link again will hide this text]. This section contains non-computer generated drawings and photographs. The drawing section is further divided by medium into works done in: chalk pastel, coloured pencil, ink, or pencil / graphite. I have also added a special section of life drawings (nudes). I took the non-digital photographs (under various lighting conditions) with a 35mm slr camera, and processed them myself in a traditional darkroom. (*note: I also have a section of digital photography, in the digital section of this portfolio.)

The thumbnails below represent the work I have profiled within each section. Clicking on one of these thumbnails takes you to the page with that example. The larger image to the right is a cropped detail. Clicking on the "Detail" link will bring up a full image in a pop-up window. If any page has numbers on top of the central image, then it is part of a series.

About the Content

My guess is that you don't want to read a lot: after all, this is a visual portfolio. But you probably want a bit of context to the images. Therefore, throughout the Hand-Render section, I have tried to succinctly and clearly describe what idea was behind the drawing or photograph and give you some background on them. I also include a paragraph on the basic techniques used, to give you a clear idea on how I went about creating the works.
