About The Project
This series of 6 images are different shots of the same building in the heart of Chinatown. The building is grungy and decaying, but that is a large part of its appeal. The vivid Chinese sign above the boarded-up windows, the graffiti on the walls, and the strong contrast of the diagonal, red stairs against the green; made this building stand out for me.In this closeup, the architectural moulding balances the Chinese sign. There are strong shapes in this photo. The underside of the stairs forms a kind of roof at the top of the image.
