About The Project
This photo, fairly different than the other 4 in this series, was used near the end of the "camera fly-through" video. This set of photos are quite altered from the originals. They were originally a sandy light-ochre colour. I made them violet to bring out their surrealistic quality. I took these photos of the walls at the Winnipeg Square Concourse (an underground shopping mall) because I really enjoyed the pebbly, sandy texture and the wonderful patterns. I look at them and my imagination runs wild with all sorts of images and stories.
These surrealistic walls are a major part of my fantasyscape interior. Like the previous series, I took these photos to use in a 3D motion graphic video. These walls would help create the spooky interior of a building, using a "fly-through camera" technique.About the Technique
The neon-like blue-turquoise-green shape at the bottom of this photo was just a happy accident. It reminds me of the Northern lights, and its mysteriousness certainly adds to the eerie feel.I bumped up the contrast in Photoshop, with an eye to bring out the edge detail. I also changed the colour from sandy ochre to the violet you see here. As well, I darkened the overall photo, for the spooky mood.
