| Prototype for Kids' Way | Kids' Section of Web TV Description |
About The Project
I was responsible for coming up with the mockup design that you see here for this group project. The prototype was undertaken in 1997, when Web TV was the new and exciting technology that many ISPs were trying to jumpstart. Our group came up with the idea, the initial content, and the design for this prototype. We had analyzed the proposed content the ISP was developing for their web TV channel, and realized what we thought was an essential gap: there was no content specifically aimed at the youth or children's market. Our kids' prototype was geared towards children from ages 6 through 10.
About the Technique
This was my very first venture into digital painting. I used Photoshop 3. Back then, the tools to save the images into gifs or jpegs were primitive, all text was treated as bitmaps (changing text was a real pain!), there were no adjustment layers and masking was a complex procedure. How things have changed!
